This has been a challenging time, and we are doing everything we can to maintain the health and well-being of our Club kids and team members, while also working to make ourselves available to Contra Costa's youth.
Staff are safe and are working remotely, and we are preparing to launch a completely virtual Clubhouse. A virtual, online experience will allow our youth to stay actively engaged with our Youth Education Professionals, learning and developing the core skills that are usually taught at our traditional after school programs.
To successfully launch this program we will be utilizing the resources from our new Marathon Petroleum STEM Center and Shell Refinery Martinez Teen Room to bring fun online programs in STEM, arts, and social-emotional health.
All of these programs will be lead by our staff who have already have trusted relationships with our youth. In this time of uncertainty we believe consistency in mentorship will be key to young peoples success.
These are unprecedented times. The impact on our organization is obviously huge, as not only are we unable to serve our kids with robust after school programming, our revenues will be dramatically impacted. Our upcoming fundraising events and other fundraising resources are all at risk. These are the very investments that enable us to effectively serve more than 1,000 kids every year.
If I could make one request of you right now, that would make a positive impact on a child's life, please donate to our COVID-19 Response Fund. This fund will allow us to continue our online programming as long as this health crisis lasts.
